If you are given a 52% chance of a successful VBAC, would you still try or schedule a c-section?

Not too muchtime left to decide. I am hoping to hear your experiences and make the best decision possible. I want to try; however, I wonder if healing from a c-section will be easier if I do not try the VBAC first. I had an emergency c-section with my daughter 10 years ago due to failure to descend. She was a big baby though 👀. Thanks in advance! ❤️

I have never had a c section but in my opinion if it's only a 52% chance I don't know if is risk putting my baby through that much stress if it doesn't end up working. But I also understand your wanting to deliver vaginally. Good luck with whatever decision you make!

I'm in the same boat I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and doing a vbac my due date is February 11th I have a scheduled c section with my private doctor February 6th but he doesn't know I'm doing a vbac I have to travel an hour in a half to the hospital that does vbac I have an appt over there these week and next I'm hoping I go into labor before my scheduled c section, I was given 70% success of vbac the hospital is very vbac friendly and I'm trying everything that's safe to do to go into labor before then walking, I do light weights 4 times a week I'm bouncing on ball, evening primrose oil. Last pregnancy i actually dilated to 10 and pushed 2 hours and could see his head but the baby started getting in distress and the doctor decided to do a csection and when he did it we discovered the cord was around his neck 2 times but the recovery of csection to me was horrible

Not dilating
Fetal distress
Baby too big/stuck
Breech baby

My first was breech so I had a c section. Second was a vbac.

52% chance idk about that!!! I wouldn't risk it. Now on the other hands if ur doctor giving u a choice and u really want to try then I say go for it!!!! Good Luck

Well the question is the 52% is based on what???
My c-section was 7 years ago
Emergency too due to placenta ruption 
Baby big because she was 35wks and weigth 6 pounds 15 onzas
And my midwife gave 98% of possibility to have a vbac 
My recommendation is try a second opinion maybe your doctor doesn't want to really try it but maybe has differents reason for that!

What's the percentage based on? If everything is in favorable conditions (effacement/dilation, baby position) then i would assume you have the same chances as anyone else to have a successful vaginal delivery. Especially since your last baby was so long ago.
