Soft cups vs. tampons

I just tried using soft cups for the fist time and while the box made it seem pretty straight forward I fumbled around trying to "get the right angle" and "feel the seal" till I gave up. Has anyone tried this product? Any suggestions? I'm super bummed out about it.
