Impact of the new US president?

Maybe controversial but I figure why not try to start a healthy debate??

How do you all feel about the new presidents influence is going to affect Muslims in the US and abroad?

Personally, I've been dreading today and have a very bad feeling about things. But as I'm neither Muslim or in the US I wondered what other peoples opinions were.

I worry about what will happen now that Trump is president. My fiance is from a Muslim family. He is from Azerbaijan. Living in America (as I am a U.S. citizen) will be difficult and I am honestly very worried about hate crimes that might arise because we have elected a racist tangerine as president.

I had a difficult time in Belgium, islamophobia is much there, and many laws against muslim practices have been voted: unlawfulness of face veil at any place, unlawfulness of hijab at school, unlawfullness of wearing long skirts at schools, unlawfullness of islamic slaughtering during the id al adha, forcing girls to wear short skirts at school. This lead to many hijabi girls to quit school and follow home education. Now the gouvernment wants to control home education to prevent girls from choosing this for extremistic reasons… 
When I read about the election of Trump I think things will get far worse to the muslims there, but at the same time I'm optimistic things wont get as bad as Belgium. Because in belgium most people are atheistic, and the new laws are against any religion, so Jews and Christians suffer from it as well. I don't think the large amount of christians inAmerica will allow laws against religious practice. In fact, I am curious how Belgian people will react if Trump makes an unislamic law and Americans go to the streets to protest this unethical religious profiling. I wonder how long it will take them to realise they've been toying around with human rights to muslim civilians.
