I used to be the mom who though 
"EW WHY BREASTFEED, i would feel uncomfortable with my baby sucking my nipples.." -mean, i know right?
But i am 2weeks4days PP and have Breastfed religiously (i did not with my first) and i really love it! I love how healthy my baby is and ben around my sick first born and has yet to be sick! No collic as my first had, not fussy! I just love it! The bond we have is awesome! So in a sence, sorry for my previous toughts! 
(Im still scared to Bf in public) i pump and bottle feed when I go off unless im at the doctors i just BF in the room!

My baby is 10 months and still scared of breastfeeding in public I usually find a fitting room or go to the car I only once feed him at a restaurant with a cover only because my whole family was like do it who cares and it's a shame that we have to be scared of doing something so natural and thats good that you gave it a try and it worked out for you

It wouldnt scare me into not doing it again but I easily go from 0 to 100 real quick when it has to do with my child I'm more scared on what my reaction would be

You go Mama! My 10 month old doesn't get sick much either and if so it's very short duration. I love the bonding too and am not looking forward to it ending:( 
I don't feel comfy in public either. And Esther hates covers. I try to do it in the car or a fitting room instead. And I've pumped to go as well.
