Why do I start the Pill on Sunday?

It's saturday and my period just started. I'm planning on taking my first bc pill tomorrow! But I'm just wondering, do I start taking the active pills? Doesn't that mess up my period or something? Or do I start with the placebos?

You can start your pack whenever you want. They start on Sunday just because that's how they print the packs for some reason. I started my first pack since '08 this evening. I just took a pen and wrote new day abbreviations above the old one, bc I'm hoping my period will always start on Saturdays, based off how how my body reacted to the placebo pills in the past.
