So about a month ago I went to the ER because of a gush of blood. There, they diagnosed me with "threatened miscarriage." I followed up with my regular Dr 3 days later, who told me my placenta is lying close to my cervix and having had sex the night before that's probably what caused the bleeding. She put me on pelvic rest and took me off work for 2 weeks. Since then I have been spotting brown clots. Now last night the same thing happened a gush of red blood came flowing. Has this happened to anyone else with a low lying placenta? It's hard to find anything related to this anywhere, so I thought here would be a good place. Thanks so much in advance 😊

UPDATE

Today I found the cause of Friday's bleeding episode. I have a subchorionic hemorrhage. They didn't see this the first time I went to the Dr for bleeding. Dr says this is most likely the cause of my brown spotting all month long. I'm relieved I know the cause and know that baby is well. Was also referred to a specialist who will monitor this closely. Will see them in 4 weeks, Dr says it may resolve on its own by then, but no one knows for sure. It's so scary when these things happen everything we find online has the worst case scenario stories.
