I haven't been on birth control in over a year now, and I honestly feel great without it. I was in BC for two years. I've tried 3 different forms of the pill. (I was allergic to all of them and one of them I was spotting for 3 months straight) the Nuva ring was cool at first then I started to get cystic acne and experienced weird ass nausea when it was near the time to take it out. I felt so ugly and gross while on birth control because I always had some sort of blemishes or rash and it made me more emotional so everything was amplified it was really just not a fun time. Now I would try the shot or the nexplanon but my mom has this hereditary thyroid disease and she told me when she got the shot, that's how she found out about the thyroid disease so I'm really iffy about it. She keeps telling me to get an IUD. But my mom had one... then she got fibroids after she had it removed... and now she doesn't have a uterus anymore because she got a hysterectomy two years ago. My mom is only 39 dude. I'm 22 and I don't even have children yet. I'd at least like to have some babies before I sacrifice my organ. Evidently I'd like to wait. My boyfriend isn't pressuring me to get on it, but he expresses his concern, and we really can't afford for me to not be on BC. But I know there are forms of bc without synthetic hormones. I'd just like some feedback from anyone using the kind of bc w/o the hormones.
