hiring a nurse?

Anyone hiring a home nurse for after baby arrives? Curious what the rates are and if it's necessary. Thanks!

I'm curious as to why you need to hire one? I'm pretty sure they have nurses at delivery and to help you during your stay.

My friend hired a baby nurse after her baby was born a year ago. I think she said it was something like $250/day. They loved her so much I think they kept her for 6 weeks and were only planning to have her there for 2. They didn't have any family to come and help though either. She said it was really helpful wth breastfeeding and getting the baby to sleep through the night very early. She also loved having someone to help with laundry and cook them dinner. I don't think it's necessary and won't be hiring one myself, but I've heard great things if you can afford it! I had never heard of a baby nurse before this and was skeptical at first but she raved about it and swears it's why her daughter is so good. She hardly cries and has been sleeping through the night since she was a few weeks old!

My brother hired one, and they loved having her. They also credit her for helping them get their baby into a sleep schedule really early on. I didn't get one, but I'm not going to lie hearing them rave about her (and seeing how good and rested his wife looks) I'm a bit jealous 😉

I'm just flying in my mom to be my caretaker while recovering from the c section. Mainly cause we have a two story home and no way I can keep up the chores when banished to the 1st floor.
