How dominant are brown eyes?

My husband and I both have blue eyes, my mum has blue eyes, his mum and my dad both have green, but his dad has dark brown eyes. I've heard that brown is the most dominant, is that right? How likely is it that our baby will come out with brown eyes instead of blue? (And what is the likelihood of green with one of our parents each having green eyes?)

I think I read somewhere that if both parents are blue the baby will 100% blue eyes but it's been years since I read that article. The brown dominate is only if one parent has brown eyes. I don't think either of your parents eye color matters.

Blue eyes are recessive, which means in order to have them you have to have the gene from both parents. Since you both have blue eyes, that means you only have the blue eyed gene. it's pretty much 90% likely baby will also have blue eyes since that's the only gene you both can pass down. (The 10% is because human genetics can get complex, so it is possible but not at all likely that another color of eyes can happen in your baby)

There's no chance your kids will have brown eyes if both your eyes are blue. Or at least barely no chance maybe green but as far as I remember from school thats not possible.

My daughters dad and I both have brown, as well as pretty much everyone else in the family. My daughter has blue eyes that I think came from my biological father. Genetics are unpredictable sometimes.

Green and blue run in both sides of my family. I have hazel/greenish eyes and my husband had light brown eyes. My baby has dark brown eyes. So looks like brien is pretty dominant.  😕
