problems of waiting til marriage ?

Is it just me or do people who wait til marriage seem to have a lot of problems in their sex life once they get married? I am a Christian and originally wanted to wait but I had sex with my boyfriend and I know it's Wrong. However, I see so many people who waited til marriage having problems in their sex life, why is that ?

I believe that sex is part of the human experience. It's also a huge part of a relationship and marriage. When you tell people no sex before marriage, they often get married way too young just for the purposes of having sex. When the new wears off and the tough sets in, and they grow into new people (as all of us do) they also often divorce. Marriage before age 25 and pre secondary education is statistically a really bad idea. There are a lot of studies that show waiting until age 25 and post education is a very good idea. How many people stay virgins that long?! For those who do wait until post 25 and post education, the divorce rate is actually quite low. (Conversely waiting until mid 30's is also bad statistically. Clearly there is a "window here.") I'm not encoruaging early marriage and commitment just for sexual and lustful reasons. We are human. Sex is awesome.

I won't encourage my boys to have sex young. I will teach them consent and respect and about safety and love. Beyond that, I hope they make the right choices for them. Waiting for marriage will not be the discussion though. I just don't believe in it. Some people are just not compatible in the bedroom.

Some people may not be sexually compatiable or it just takes time and practice for the sex to be good. Personally, I'm not waiting for marriage, and I enjoy having a sexual relationship. I need to know what I'm getting into before I get married, but everyone is different.

If they are both waiting they have zero experience. It takes a while to figure sex out. Theres a lot more to it than just insert in hole and move back and forth. Also, I don't think they fully understand how important sexual compatibility is to a relationship.

I am a Christian and waited till marriage. I kissed my husband for the first time at our wedding. Waiting till marriage was not easy. We got engaged a few months after dating and married a few months later. I think If we had to wait a few more months it would have been incredible more difficult. I am very happy that we waited till marriage. The sex is amazing, it was wonderful to discover each other once we were married. We have had difficulties when I was pregnant and when we discovered I had a skin disease. My husband however was very supportive and we figure it out together.It's amazing to be with someone who knows and love me and to know that it's something special that we share only with each other. To me it's the most beautiful thing in the whole world. I was never worried about the compatibility between us as I has sexually attracted to him and loved him. I knew that once we were married we would figure it out together. We did talk a lot about sex before we were married, we talked about our fears, thoughts and expectations. There are some very helpful Christian books to read about sex that help you prepare yourself mentally and even physically before married/having sex. Even if you have already started to have sex I would highly recommend reading them as there is a lot more to sex than just the physical aspects and sexually compatibility.

My husband and I waited till marriage. It was a choice we made together. It was awesome and has been awesome! Been married to years and we are doing great! Things arnt always easy but he is my best friend and we work through our hardships together!

I dont see why there is a problem with waiting, apart from being hard to control your desires till then.

I think people who choose to wait also tend to be less willing to talk about sex, which can cause problems. But that's not always the case. My husband and I waited until we were engaged, and had never had sex before, but we talk about what we like and don't like and are pretty straightforward about when we want sex, and at this point I don't think we have problems.
