what were you doing when your water broke?

Currently 40 weeks pregnant and still no signs of labor. Starting to obsess about when baby boy will make his appearance. What were you doing when your water broke? Did you notice any subtle signs of labor before the contractions started or your water broke?

I was 39.4 and I had gotten back into bed to relax for a little bit before heading out for the day to finish up some last minute preparations. I was on my phone and then my son kicked me and I heard and felt this big pop. Texted my mom and she said it might have been my water and to get up. I was doubtful but the second I moved to get up it gushed a little. Then I stood up and so much just poured out lol. That was 11:20 am. Contractions started about noon. I had my son at 3:52 pm. He was my first baby and I had no prior contractions but I had been losing my mucous plug for a week or so.

I had been in labor for like 30 hours before my water broke. I was having contractions every minute and when my water broke, they were just double peaking and I couldn't even catch my breath. I could barely walk (home birth).  I was naked because I had just gotten out of the shower  where I was laboring and my mom kept trying to put clothes on me (she's very modest) I was like LEAVE!!! ME!!!!!! ALOOOONNNEEE!!!!! lol I thought it was my son's head sliding out, but it was just the water sac bulging.

Water breaking is the first sign of labor for only 10% of women so it's likely to happen in the hospital or closer to birth for most!

My first time(last year) I was having strong period like cramps on and off. Aka contractions. It went on for the whole day. I didn't quite know it was labor lol. But the time I was ready for bed I laid up with hubby and my water popped! Literally felt like a pop inside me lol. Water just kept coming down. Contractions grew stronger and really painful over time. I got to the hospital and filled out paper work casually. Put me in a room and just waited until I was ready to push. It took a few more hours after my water broke so don't panic the baby won't slip out (I don't think lol) but the contractions grew really brutal I begged for the epidural after saying I wasn't going to get it.

I was 38 weeks and 4day i think with my son. We were laying in bed. I almost thought I had peed myself. But there was no way because I went pee twice like 5 minutes prior. I didn't start feeling contractions until about 3 hours after it broke. So my feet and legs were super swollen that whole day and I had them up and elevated the whole day too, I guess that's a sign of labor.

I was 39+2. I started having contractions at 1 PM on a Friday. Got admitted to the hospital that night around 9:30 and had my son at 9:15 the next morning. My water never broke though, they had to do that once I was 10 cms 😐

For 2 of my kids, going pee on the toilet (thought my bladder was just super full, but the pee never stopped which told me it was my water breaking). The other was broken in the hospital while in labor.
