Clomid CD 5-11??

Question

I keep seeing people taking it for five days. Does anyone know why you would take it for 7 days and later in the cycle, days 5-11?

I've heard of 3-7 and 5-9 as options. With 3-7 to produce more eggs and 5-9 to develop eggs to maturity.  My doctor put me on 5-9 but she didn't give me her rationale. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
