Do you tip your UBER/LYFT driver?

I'm wondering because I live in Florida and I rarely use a taxi or public transportation. I went to D.C. and used UBER and LYFT the whole time. I didn't even think about tipping, until I saw one of my colleagues from the area doing it. I got a lot of mix opinions about it. So I'm just wondering.. I want to see the reactions of consumers, and people that have this as their business. Thank you ❤

I've never tipped Uber drivers. I mean I think it's up to you whether you want to do it or not. I don't even know why we tip taxi drivers. Driving you from A to B is their job.

Generally, no unless they do something that I think is worth a tip. For example, helping me with bags, having a nice conversation, making sure I'm okay with the radio and air conditioning, etc. Not everyone does those things so when I meet drivers who do I like to tip.

It depends on the driver and how far I'm going. Usually I'll throw them a few extra dollars if I have cash. Uber doesn't give the option to add a tip on the app, lyft does.

In nj most people do my friend works for uber he said he gets tips all the time, but he also says he understands why people dont

I was told not to tip the driver (i havent ever used uber but was asking my sisters about it. )
