My husband and I stay in a house with his father and his fathers girlfriend.

The woman (we'll refer to her as Ashley in order to protect her ID) doesn't like me and has made that VERY clear the last few weeks.

Today, her and my husband got into it. Once he left for work, she came out of her room and slapped me.

Ive told my husband that our son and myself deserve better than where we are, and he told me the day she hits me is the day we pack up and leave.

When I told him about what unfolded today, he said that we have no where to do and that ill have go deal with it.

He jas immediate family in the area that have told him he's welcome if things get too rough here.

What should I do? I don't feel comfortable living in a house with a woman who feels she has the right to put her hands on me; but im also not comfortable leaving my husband and child.
