water birth?

Did any of y'all have a water birth? And if so, how was it? Was your nursing staff supportive if it was in the hospital? I ask because I have always felt better when I get in water and I would like to carry that over into my birthing experience. I know I would like to at least labor in water, if not actually deliver. I would rather avoid an epidural because a) needle! And b) restriction afterwards. I want to move and be able to drink and eat if I feel up to it.
