Side panel or full panel maternity jeans?

Question

Do you think side panel is more appropriate for a growing bump transitioning to 2nd trimester? I feel as though a full panel would feel more comfortable for a larger bump. Or can a side panel work for all trimesters? Sorry, 😣 first time mom and my pants are too tight.. I'm using a belly band and they hair band trick.

With my first, I liked the full panel initially but as my bump got bigger, it was summer time and too hot so I hated them. I had some under the bump elastic bands and I loved those for work and continued to wear them post partum on bloated PMS days 😅 they were like formal looking pajama pants.
This pregnancy, I'm not working so I live In leggings and dresses. I'm not into jeans much now so didn't buy any pregnancy ones. I wore an old one with a belly band once.

I too am a FTM, I'm 24 weeks. I've found that my pants fit everywhere except my belly obviously. The belly band has been great. But my husband made me try on a full maternity pant and I've never been so comfortable! They're dress slacks too! So worth it. The side panels I'm personally not a big fan of, in my mind if it fits my belly now it's probably not going to be comfortable if it has to stretch when I get bigger.

I liked side panel when my bump was smaller in 2nd trimester. The full panel felt too bulky. However, 3rd trimester at 34 weeks side panel is impossible and the full panel over my bump makes me feel better.
