So my mom is throwing my shower at her house in March. My sister called me tonight to get a list of friends and stuff I want invited. Altogether, there were almost 60 people, although we know a lot are out of town and won't come, we just wanted to be polite. So I was already a bit stressed about the guest list as my moms house is not that big, and then my MIL goes and invites 25 people!! I knew about 5 names ahead of time and was not expecting this. Not only do I not know half the people she invited (she invited friends of hers from work and stuff), but she also invited people I don't want there! I'm so annoyed right now. I don't think she had a right to invite all her friends since it's MY mom that's hosting, not her. Now my mom is worried she's going to need to rent a hall which is an expense she wasn't expecting. The invitations were sent electronically so it's not like we can remove people now. Just desperately hoping most people decline. Anyone else having issues with their shower or MIL?
