C section underwear??

So I was just thinking about underwear after I deliver. ( I'm having a c section) Should I be buying "c section underwear" ? Do they do anything different ? And if I should what brand/kind? Also is it a more of a bother wearing them?

Yes the underwear they give you at the hospital is so comfy! I brought extras home and wore them for a while after my c section! 😀

I did buy the underwear from motherhood maternity and they were the BEST THINGS ever once I got home! I'm having my second c-section in two weeks and just ordered 4 pairs. Right now they have free shipping plus like 30% off I ended up getting 4 pairs for under 35 bucks. I'll be honest the really helped for after I was home. Every time I laughed coughed or sneezed and was not wearing these underwater I would cry! It helped keep a small amount of pressure on the c-section and I think they helped me get back to my pre-pregnancy body quickly also.

That mesh hospital underwear is great because it's up to your belly button and doesn't irritate your incision. I was able to take home a couple extra packs so I have maybe 10 or so. 
However, maxi pads for your post-partum lochia (blood flow for 2-6 weeks) don't adhere well to the mesh so I find it really annoying to try to manage a pad that wants to move around a lot. One pad even fell in the toilet when I was about to sit down!
I also bought a pack of Always Discreet (incontinence underwear like Depends) but I feel super guilt throwing away an entire underwear every time I pee just because of some blood, so I'm only using them when my flow is heavy.
If you do buy granny panties for post c-section, make sure you get high waisted. I should have bought some, don't know how I got through my first post-partum with just the normal bikini briefs I own now.

I bought extra large cotton underwear that went up over my stomach. They are great period panties too.

You'll definitely need to wear underwear as you will bleed the same way as you would with a vaginal delivery. Personally I found a high wasted panty girdle to be the most comfortable. They're well above my scar, the hold my stomach in and are easy to wear a pad with. I was able to switch from the huge diapers they give you at the hospital to abnormal heavy pad by 3-4days pp.
