Flying with a baby?? 3 months old...

I'm currently in a little of a dilemma. My aunt is slowly fading, and brought hospice in. I have to fly out with my mom because she never flys and feels very uncomfortable flying. Is it out of the question to take my 3 month old? And how bad is the pressure in their tiny ears? My husband is very much against her flying. So my only choice is go against my husband's wishes, or take my pump and pump and dump the next 4 days. What to do???

I took my two month old on a flight that was only 3 hours, but covered 2,000 miles. I put her in my Boba wrap, and she slept the whole time. People travel with infants all the time, I'm sure she would be just fine.

I just traveled on a 3 hour flight all alone with my two month old.  I breastfed and had a bottle of pumped milk as backup.  Be sure to try and feed your LO during take off and landing to help with pressure.  Unless they are asleep and in that case let him sleep!  I recommend checking the stroller and car seat at the ticket counter since it's a pain to take it through security.  I carried my LO in my Ergo the whole time.  Traveling can be nerve racking but well fed babies will sleep!  Good luck!

I would ask her doctor how flying is on a baby. 
Also, not need to dump out the milk, the airplane should allow you to bring your milk home

Flying without another adult to help w baby is tough. However having help,it is not bad at all.

We flew with our 3 month old two weeks ago. It was 3.5 hour flight. He only cried on first descent. We just gave him his bottle and he was fine. On flight back he slept through takeoff and descent.

Pack a carryon with the essentials for baby and a change of clothes for you. TSA permits breast milk or formula, and your breastpump. I took my pumped milk in the freezer bags, some frozen, some room temp. TSA prefers frozen. You also need your carseat and likely a stroller. Both can be checked at gate (southwest was free). Southwest let us take carseat on plane and put it in a seat for free bc flight was not sold out. Otherwise you could purchase an infant fare or simply carry her on your lap.

I overpacked on his clothes, blankies and accessories. If you can do laundry (i did at my inlaws very easily) its not too hard to pack.

I packed my dockatot to use as his travel bed. You could co sleep if you have the proper space

You can definately do it. Especially if you breastfeed (im sooo jealous!).  Just make a checklist and pack well with plastic bags and proper separation of wet items.

I flew with my daughter to Germany when she was 7 months. She didn't even care about the pressure change. If you decide to take your baby I highly recommend Baby wearing. I never had to take her out for the security checks and even breastfed her in the carrier. On the down side, my daughter and I did get sick with the flu, I got unlucky and had someone sick seated right next to us. Luckily it was only on our 1 hour layover flight, but it was still long enough to get us both sick. She was sick almost 5 weeks so I understand your husbands concerns.
