Frustrated.

So our dog is 8 years old, and has ADHD, (not kidding, diagnosed by 3 vets).

She is extremely hyper. No matter what we do, she is crazy hyper. Now, this wouldn't be a problem. **We walk her 4 times a day, dog park twice a week, and go to her training classes 2 times a month.** our dog park is only open Saturday and Wednesday.

She's a big girl, a Husky German Shepherd mix. She is so hyper she might get 3-4 hours of sleep a night. If there is any change in the house, (we got a new love seat) she howled at it for two weeks everytime she went in the room.

According to our vet we are doing everything correct except they are pushing medication to calm her.

I would be on bored with that due to the fact that we have a baby due in three months and I know it would take some time to get in her system.

She has been around babies before and is absolutely horrible. I cannot tell you how bad she is without feeling extremely guilty.

She has litterally stolen milk out of a baby's mouth, trampled one, knocked one over in a walker, drug a 2 month old across the floor by his footy on his pjs, (it looked like a toy she has we stopped her before she shook his foot.......) all of those happened when there were multiple adults around, and happened in less than a second. God....

We have had her in training classes for 3 years when we got her. And her behavior has not changed at all.

So that is why I am ok with meds for her.

My partner, is not. He doesn't want to risk the side effects for her. He doesn't realize that he would be risking our child's possible life is we let our guard down for even a second in our own home.

I don't want to be a prisoner and keep he and I locked in the bedroom to avoid her.

Am I over reacting? Is he right?

We took her in, we won't just get rid of her. She is part of our family. Second to our baby, but still family.
