taking away the pacifier?

So my daughter is 10 months almost 11 months. For moms who's babies use a pacifier when did you take it away or when are you planning on taking it away. I'm honestly a little scared to take my daughters away but I know it needs to be done. She doesn't cry often but she does use it in the car and when she sleeps otherwise she mainly just chews on it.

Mine still uses hers for naps and bedtime.  I figure if she is still using it at 18 months maybe I'll start encouraging her to not use it.

Ryder does the same thing, he only uses it if he's sleepy mainly otherwise it's a teething toy. He has wubanubs and even regular ones but prefers his wubanubs. His dentist wanted me to change him over to a nuk but if I'm going to do all of that I'm just going to take it away. I think with them not needing it so bad, if they chew a hole in it or I see it getting close it'll be the end of them & I'll explain to him he broke them so there are no more. His dentist told me that even still there's no reason to take it away this early. Ry will be a year march 6th if that answers anything☺️

My niece is 2 and still uses pacifiers. She's very smart and advanced for her age, so I don't personally think it's a huge deal. I know there are disadvantages, I'm just saying that I don't think it's something to loose sleep over. 🙂

I'm all talk. I said once we lost the latest grouping of binkies that we were going to be done. But I just bought a pack of them this last weekend 😳 I have no idea how it when to break the binky habit. I just don't want my kid to be the one walking around with a binky at 4 years old.

We just took the pack away at the beginning of ten months. It was actually quite a smooth transition. My boy had issues falling asleep for two nights, but now it's not a problem, he just talks himself down.
