is this ring too serious?

Im an freshman in college and in a serious relationship and have been for a little over a year and for Valentines day he's getting me this claddagh ring i really like. But im worried it's too engagement-y

But even single girls wear them, so i dont see a big deal. I guess seeing the "engagement" in the title made me uneasy. Esp when showing my parents the ring my boyfriend gotcme (even though itll be worn on the right hand, not the left.)

It's just a nice gift from your boyfriend unless he gives it to you as an engagement ring and asks you to marry him. As long as you don't wear it on your left hand ring finger, I don't think anyone would think it's an engagement ring.

I think it's awesome. I'm Irish and I've worn my claddagh ring for as long as I can remember. My dad gave it to me when I was born. It stands for love, loyalty and friendship. Wear it proudly girl, it's beautiful. Here's mine. 😊 that one is gorgeous.
