period like cramps?

Question

I'm having pretty intense period like cramps all over my abdomen and in my lower back. I'm guessing this is normal? I thought Braxton Hicks contractions weren't supposed to hurt.

I'm 32 weeks by the way.

Hi again!

32 weeks. My period cramps are now accompanied by spotting. Thanks everyone who helped me out. I'm going to go to the ER just to make sure everything is fine. Baby Beau is still moving around so that is a good sign.

At 29w I had heavy bleeding and had to go to the hospital. I didn't realize it (probably bc I was so scared and stressed) but I was having contractions that I thought were just BH.  To stop the contractions I had to be hooked up to an iv- to be hydrated & the nurses had me lay on my side bc they said that would show them down vs being on my back/sitting up. 
So drink lots of water, and go lay down on your side :)!
I'm now on modified bedrest at home taking it super easy for as long as I can!

The braxton hicks that I get are sometimes painful but they are never consistent. 
The easiest way for me to time them is by getting my stop watch out on my phone. You can time how long they last if you want but definitely time how far apart they are. So when the contraction ends, start your stop watch. When the next one starts, stop your stop watch. That should give you a good idea of how far apart they are.

I went in at 32 weeks for cramping and tiny bit of spotting wasn't really painful but they were definitely strong period cramps. Come to find out I was contracting and had to have the shot to stop them. I had no clue that's wat it was FTM

I've called my doctors office several times because I've had the same type of cramping. They have the same answer every dang time, drink more water. They said only go to triage if I'm bleeding or spotting. I drink between 70-85oz a day and they said that's not nearly enough and I need to drink a gallon a day. They are going to drive me crazy.

I was having that last night & Im 31+4days... they were about 5mins apart & went on for about an hour! I got really worried but I think it is just Braxton Hicks. I'm a FTM so everything is new to me.

I'm just right over 32 weeks as well and I went to the hospital with same pain apparently some people that get Braxton Hicks do get some pain my contractions were also five mins apart try tracking them and if they come that close together go to hospital to make sure your not dilated good luck we don't have that much longer!!!
