How old is old enough to have a baby?

All a matter of opinion! Just want to see what age everyone thinks is old enough to have a baby. I'm 19 and constantly get told I'm too young to try to have one so how old do you think is old enough?

I'm 20, 21 next month and 19 weeks pregnant with my first...BUT.
I'm married. We have our own home. We are financially independent.  I have finished most of my college, and my husband has an amazing career.  So we could have a baby.

I don't think there is an age where it is time, it's about your personal readiness.  Can you financially stay st home for 3 months to take care of baby? Can you reduce work during pregnancy and still financially be ready? Do you have your own home or will you be living with family? It's all about you. I never for once thought about being too young, because we decided we wanted a baby now.

My best friend was 16 when she got pregnant, i was no where near mature enough to have a baby at 16, but she was, it was not intentional, but she went with it, and is one of the best moms i know, she does so much for her son, and despite having a kid to care for she worked her ass off to be able to graduate with her class, 8 years later and shes still kicking ass, doing what she needs to for her family, shes even married to her sons father, so i really dont think its a matter of are you old enough, but can you handle it, are you ready, a 30 year old woman might not be ready while a 20 year old woman is, age doesnt matter

I don't think there is a "right" age to get pregnant. However, it ideally should be when you are emotionally mature enough, self reliant, and financially stable enough to support not only yourself but another person.

Girls get pregnant as teenagers all the time, and there are plenty of resources available for them. No judgement to young moms whatsoever. However, I personally would never have chosen to try to have a kid at that young of an age. You are still figuring out who you are and what you want. It may seem like you have everything figured out at that age, but I promise you'll look back in 10 years and realize how much your priorities, wants, and needs have changed. I was also most certainly in no position financially to give a child a good home and life at that age. But that's just me and my two cents. Obviously it's up to you and your SO to know when it's right.

Persobally, 19 would be too young for me. My husband and I wed at 23 and got to expierence an amazing 5 years of bliss together, in our love bubble, just me and him.  We got to learn eachother so well.  We have enjoyed the time and I would not have wished it any different. We're expecting ting baby #1 in 14 weeks and couldn't be more excited.  Waiting a little later allowed us to learn things, not just about eachother, but ourselves and this world. We learned what it's like when one of us loses a job.  Or when things just seem to be shit, and we learned to deal with our emotions and stress.  I think 19 is too young..but then again, you having a child affects me 0, so It doesn't much matter to me when you have a baby, I did what was best for me

Whenever you are stable in your relationship, and financially. Whenever you have your own place, and whenever you and your significant other both want/and are willing to take on the responsibility of parenthood.

Totally depends on your situation, if your in a steady relationship, have your own place and making your own money then that's when I feel your lifestyle is ready for a baby, but that doesn't mean you are mentally ready for a baby. I was 19 when I fell pregnant, I was on birth control though. But luckily I'm in a relationship and have been for 4 years and have my own place and a good job.

19 would have been too young for me, personally. I was still in college and had no idea what adulthood was about. When I think back to some of the things I believed at that age, I find it hard to relate to that girl. I've done a lot of growing up and a lot of living in the last 10 years that I'm happy about. But that's my life, not everybody is going to live the same way, and they shouldn't. So I can't speak for you 😊

I really believe it's different for everyone, but it has to do with when you are emotionally and financially stable. Hubby and I wanted to travel, save money, and enjoy our 20s and a baby was not on our immediate to do list. Now we are 30, pregnant with #1, and perfectly content. Some people at 19 are where we are now-but we certainly weren't. We had college, grad school, loans to pay, a house to buy, and places to see before we even thought about a baby.
