Is marriage important to you? Do you think it's important in this day and age?

I've been having a very long running conversation with my SO about one day getting married and he doesn't think that it's a 'necessary process' these days. I just want some other peoples opinions cause I'm starting to give up on my dream of getting married one day 😕

If you aren't married, you get no say in your SO's care in an emergency, aren't entitled to any benefits, and may not even be given information. You also don't get any tax benefits. So a marriage certificate might. It seem important now, but in an emergency or end-of-life situation it can have major implications.

I like being married and it is important to me. However I've known people that have been together about 30 years now, going strong and they were never legally married. I think it depends on what the couple wants.

Same. I want to be married. By my boyfriend thinks it's just signing a piece of paper and if we're together we're together that's all that should matter. And it does but I see marriage as much more. And we're going to have a baby, and I'm happy but I still wish we would get married. Hopefully he changes his mind someday.

Marriage was a must for me. It's a value that I hold dare. But it depends on the individual. If it's important to you then you need to be with someone who feels the same way.
