newborn movements

My son is almost a month old and this kid never stops moving. He's been lifting his head around since literally the day he was born. He's constantly turning his head and both his arms and legs are moving every minute he's awake. If he was a puppy I'd let him run around the yard to get out his energy. He's relatively happy but the kid never relaxes. I'm just wondering if anyone else has a super active baby? I'm going to ask his doctor at the next appointment but was anyone else given a medical explanation for the energy?
