Date Night?

Question

How soon after birth did you ladies have your first date night without the baby?
My MIL is in town and my SO is wanting a date night just the two of us. He says we'll put the baby down after a feeding, go have a quick dinner in town, and be back before her next feeding. Obviously leave MIL with milk just in case, but I'm not sure how I feel about this. 
I just gave birth 9 days ago. His intended date night will be before she's 2 weeks old. That just seems too early to leave her, even if she is asleep the whole time. 
I want to give my SO the attention he wants, but at the same time I'm finding it so hard to comprehend leaving our daughter alone, even if it is with grandma. 
Thoughts from you ladies? 
I've spent every minute with her since her birth, not sure I'm ready for a couple hours without her. She's so young!

Mine is 2 weeks tomorrow and I personally couldn't imagine leaving him. He's always near me unless I'm showering. I'm too attached to him. I'd have severe anxiety. Do what you think is right for you.

With my first we left her with my mom for a couple hours when she was around 6 weeks old and I was nervous even then. I don't think I ever left my second till I went back to work at 13 weeks. My mother in law thinks that my kids and baby should be spending weekends with her twice a month. Call me overprotective but no. I like my kids and I like them to be with me. They grow up so fast.

Me and SO just had a date night this past weekend and our baby is about to 3 weeks! My SO didn't have a hard time leaving her because he works but i haven't left her since she was so it was really hard! But it was nice for us to hang out just the two of us, it felt like a first date again!

I went to the movies with my mom and sister when my baby was 9 days old. My dad and husband were both home with the baby and while I did have some anxiety about leaving him, it was nice to feel like my old self for a little while and I was only 15 minutes away if anything happened. My son is now almost 4 weeks old and my husband asked me about going to dinner and leaving the baby with my MIL. I still feel a bit anxious but think it is good to get out of the house. He goes to the gym frequently and plays in a indoor soccer league with games once a week but I've only been out without the baby a handful of times, and most of those were for less than an hour going to the doctor or running some mundane errand. I went to Zumba for the first time in two months yesterday. I do feed the baby before I go out but he takes a bottle on top of breastfeeding since his tongue tie prevents him from fully draining when he eats and he gets tired easily. Do what feels right to you but you may find that once you are out you feel better than you think you will! I feel like my relationship with my husband as a couple has been pushed aside this month and it would be nice to have a couple hours alone without our baby.

Mine wants to do the same and I'm torn. I never did with my other 2 but I also realize how important it is to our children now that mom and dad are both happy. I think if my mom was still alive the decision would be easier. If we do I will only be a couple blocks from the house and probably be running home every half hour😂

Don't do it if your not comfortable! My baby is 3 weeks old and I cannot leave her with anyone. Leaving her seems wrong.

Reading these comments make me quite worried. Me and hubby have a night away planned when baby will be only 6 weeks old. Our super close friend is staying over at our house to look after him. I know it will be hard, but I thought I'd be able to manage it. Really hope I'll have nothing to worry about. X

She was only 9 days old when we went out. It was for my birthday and grandma watched her while we went for lunch. I felt more comfortable going to lunch than dinner!
