IUI. What caused you to get to that point?

Hi ladies! My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 4.5 years after a miscarriage. 
Come to find out, all is well with me but, he has a very low sperm count. With us trying for so long with no luck, we've jumped right into IUI. 
He's been on clomid every other day for a month now. 
Today is cycle day 1 for me. I begin clomid day 3-7. Have an HSG & ultrasound scheduled. Have an ovidrel (sp) trigger shot that I'll take when needed. Then the actual insemination of course. 
I'm soooo anxious & excited!

My question is what caused you to get to the point of IUI?

Was it PCOS? 
Blocked tubes? 
Your man's sperm count? 
Unexplained?

I just wanted to thank you ladies for your input! I know this infertility struggle is more common than not. As bad as it sucks to say, I'm glad there's a big group of us that can support each other and be there to understand one another.

Unexplained for us. All of our tests came back great but it still wasn't happening after 2+ years TTC on our own and 3 cycles on Clomid. We did 1 cycle of IUI with Clomid and got very lucky!

Good luck!! Infertility and going through treatments is the most stressful and heartbreaking thing I've done and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But just know there is hope and it really can work :)

Unexplained fertility. We tried for a year and then I started taking clomid. Then we did clomid and IUI. Now, we are just starting clomid, shots to start ovulation and IUI. They usually try 3 rounds of this, but we are heavily considering trying it once and jumping to IVF. Each stage is expensive.

-We tried for 4 months before I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was on the ball with getting checked because I was pretty sure I never ovulated after coming off birth control. 
-Tried another 3 months with just metformin, still never ovulated. 
-Tried 2 months with clomid from OB but ovulated late around day 22.
-Went to RE and she changed my meds a bit, tried 1 month with higher clomid dosage, ultrasound monitoring, and trigger. Had 2 nice follicles but very thin lining. 
Also had an HSG and husband a sperm analysis. Sperm was considered normal but motility is bordlerline normal/low.
-1 month took birth control because of a large cyst presumably caused by clomid! 
-1 cycle letrozole 5mg which gave great lining but 2 smallish follicles, ovulated late because dr said no sense in using expensive trigger when they were small
-Current cycle we used letrozole 10mg, trigger, and first IUI. I'm in TWW now. Dr recommended IUI because of slight motility problem and it will hopefully increase our chances. This month I got 2 large follicles and great lining so we're keeping our fingers crossed!

20 months of TTC. Saw an RE because of hubby's low morphology and really low motility. He was put on clomid which improved his numbers and we did our first IUI this much which sadly resulted in a chemical. RE has put treatment on hold until after 1 whole cycle has passed.
