The products are different than they used to be. It's safe to get your hair colored. The only things I would be careful with at the salon is if you get permed, chemical straightening, Brazilian blowout, etc. those chemicals can be quite harmful. But you're not going to absorb the hair color through your scalp or anything. Otherwise, it wouldn't be safe to do it on a regular basis.
