period irregular?

I finally got my period December when my daughter was 8 months, this month I am 7 days late. I've always been very regular before the baby but I am also still breastfeeding. Has this happened to anyone else? Took a blue dye hpt and they kind of looked positive but wondfo was definitely negative, could it just be I'll be irregular until I stop breastfeeding ?

Are you on any type of birth control? It can definitely be irregular with BF, but it's also possible you can still get pregnant very easily. 
 
I was BF and pumping and only had one period after baby (I got mine at 6 weeks po even though I was still BF). We found out when my son was 2 and a half months that we were expecting again.

We were just doing what we always did, pull out method, which I know is very unreliable but it worked for us for years and I just figured I was less fertile while breastfeeding. I just wasn't sure if this is common, I just thought once period returns it is like it was before.
