Has anyone had any bacteria while pregnant?

Just curious if anyone has had bacteria in their urine, and had been perscribed any vaginal creams or antibiotics to get rid of the bacteria? My doc has currently put me on antibiotics and recently some creams. Anybody else had this problem?

I actually just finished an antibiotic for a UTI today, 2 pills for 7 days. There are many different strands of bacteria that can cause UTIs and therefore many different antibiotics. Creams tend do be more for vaginal/yeast infections - you might have been lucky enough to get both haha.

This can be typical in pregnancy due to all the hormone changes. Just another perk to the package deal

Oh my goodness, yes! So I get UTI's about once a year anyways but last pregnancy, every time I went to the doctor (early on in my pregnancy), my urine results came back that I had bacteria in my urine. I wasn't in any pain.. No symptoms at all but my doctor put me on all types of antibiotics. Bactrim (which I was not to comfortable with bc I read it's not the safest but I do have a healthy baby girl now so I can't complain), cipro, you name it. I'm not sure which antibiotic finally worked but around 13 weeks, my urine finally came back normal. I was in tears bc I was so frustrated but I knew if it was left untreated, it could've led to even worse kidney infections and that would've potentially hurt the baby. Hang in there! Hopefully you won't have to be on as many as I was. Good luck with everything!
