How long have you taken off work?! Do you feel guilty for going back??

I have 3 children. A 9, 6, and now 8 wk old. I was a stay-at-home mom for the first two, only working part-time, about 12 hrs a week, but when my youngest son turned 3 I was promoted to a new position and started to work full-time. My little girl just turned 8 wks and I was supposed to go back today and called off..I'm really struggling to go back but we truly can't afford for me not to...Anyone else going thru this guilt?!

I feel like I'm in the minority's here but I'm looking forward to going back to work. I desperately want my routine back.

In Canada you get a year off with 55% of your pay and my employer matches it to 93% of my pay so I'm taking the full year plus a few weeks extra. I couldn't imagine going back at 6 weeks!

I have to go back at 6 weeks.  Which is next week. I also have three and I went through that same quilt every time. It gets easier as the weeks go by. And you both get used to your new routine.  Face time helps a lot too :).

This is my first and I'll be going back at 16 weeks I think and I really don't want to. I've been a workaholic but after being with my baby girl all day I just really don't want to leave her at daycare ☹️ my heart is already breaking and I still have time. I live in NJ so I have to go back, we need the money since it's so expensive around here. I thought I'd be dying to go back to work but I'm really dreading it

I couldn't go back.. I was put on bedrest at 28 weeks and haven't been back since, instead I got a nanny job to bring back my income while being able to stay with my baby.

I have fourteen weeks - thank goodness. Seven left. There are days I can't wait to get back to work and then days where I can't imagine leaving her.

I have 14 weeks off. I'm glad I have this time and wouldn't want to go back sooner, but looking forward to going back to work. I enjoy my job and work from home, so I'll have a nanny at home where I can see him throughout the day still.

I am taking 12weeks but I'm going to ask my dr instead of going back in March can i get A ext until May 1st

I took off 14 weeks. I took the same amount of time with my first son. I hate going back and it is extremely difficult but we need two incomes. I am lucky my mom and mother in law watch the kids while I work so I know they are well taken care of but it doesn't make it any easier to leave them. I do plan on being a lot better at the work life balance. I am a manager and tend to take on A LOT at work.

We're going to make it work with me working part time, so I'm going to have to let my employer know I won't be returning. Half of my paycheck will go to daycare anyway, I may as well find something part time and raise my own child. I need to finish school too, this is the best time to do it. We won't have the financial freedom and luxuries for a little while, but I can't stomach the thought of someone else raising my kid.
