cloth diapers???

Question

I was wondering if any of you had to pay for laundry 1.75 for regular wash, 3.00 for industrial wash, 1.45 for dry, 2.00 for industrial dry is what we have to pay. Either way do you think it would still be cheaper cloth diapering then it would be disposable diapering? I really really wanna cloth diaper so bad, but if it cost us more to cloth diaper than we can't afford that right now.

Yes, we had to use coin Landry for a couple years! Often, especially in the summer, I'd just hang dry all the diapers and inserts out in the sun, and that helped a lot.

I would hand wash them & hang them to dry. I think it'd be a ton of trips to the laundry mat.  Depending on where you live sometimes you can hire a service that will supply diapers/take away the dirty diapers

I plan on using cloth diapers but if you have to pay that much to wash them I doubt it would be much of a savings financially, I would still do it just because it's less trash and I'm always looking for ways to have less trash. And of course the benefits of not having unnecessary, potentially harmful chemicals on your babies sensitive skin from disposable diapers.. I say it's still worth it

Why don't you launder them yourself and save heaps of money?

I would think you wouldn't save much by having to pay to get them washed and dried. If you don't have a washer, have you looked into getting a portable one? That's what we plan to do. We live in an apartment and it would be too expensive to constantly wash diapers at the laundromat. So we're just getting one of those small load portable washers that you can hook up to your sink or tub. Thankfully the laundromat near us has free drying so we can use that or just hang dry them.

I have to pay for laundry and plan on doing cloth diapers. I am doing the All-In-2 with the inserts. I plan to get a breather washer and cleaning tub that will fit in the bath. I will wash them in there and then every so often throw everything in the washer and pay the $1.50 per load.

I think it would be if you did prefolds and got a lot of them.
