Engagement ring

So I recently got engaged Which is pretty exciting, but come to find out my ring is not real. I'm not upset and I don't care that it's not real but it is turning my finger horribly green and is looking dull because I wear it alllllllllllllll the time no matter what. Recently I was talking to my fiance and we agreed that we would buy a cheap one that won't turn my first get green... The thing is I feel really bad...... Is it wrong of me to buy another ring or not?
