Baby kicks

When my husband is close enough, like when we are laying on the couch together and he talks to me our son kicks. He kicks when I sing and listen to music but not always when I talk. Does he just recognize a new voice? Should my husband keep talking to him? We laugh when he tries because we can never tell if he likes or hates the noise.
