need opinions!!!

So my cycle is normally 35 days and is normally very heavy. My first period since having birth was January 1st, which was a very normal period. Husband and I decided we wanted to try for another so we did the dance everyday of my fertile week. I started spotting the first, so I put a tampon in. These past few days there has been blood on the tampon but. Not enough to even call it A period. I took a test a few days ago and forgot to go back and look at it, so when I did 8 hrs later there were two lines. I took a test the following day and didn't see anything, but different test brand. The blood is not pink, it's more of a dark red. Should I assume it is my period?
