Baby Shower for Second Baby?

Not really controvery, but it didn't fit into any of the other categories. *shrug*

So, my best friend is pregnant with her second child. Her first just turned one. I threw her a very, very nice baby shower for baby #1. What have you all done for your friends/relatives' second baby?

I personally wouldn't do a shower for a second baby that close in age. I would do what people call a sprinkle. Gifts aren't required. But to just celebrate and be together with friends and family.

My family does a shower for every single baby my aunt had 8 all where big. I personally didn't want any. If she wants one maybe you can do a sprinkle basically it's a celebration of the baby and ppl usually bring diapers and wipes

If she is lrego with a different gender then yes baby shower is cool but if she is having a baby with the same gender as her first then nooooooooooo to the baby shower it's just pointless. Unless it's multiples or a different gender then baby showers are not needed

My best friend is having one for her second, and I get why...

Her oldest daughter is 2 and she had a shower for her, but lived in Delaware at the time. She's now pregnant with her second little girl, and has since moved back to California. Because of moving a few times in the past couple years, she's had to donate most of the items she had previously due to space.

To me, it makes sense. I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all rule on this stuff, and I definitely don't find it tacky.

I got her some Avent bottles and Honest diapers as they were on her registry. She really didn't have much on there, mostly clothes. You can also look into breast feeding pillows, pacifiers, baby carriers, and clothes for the baby as they grow (not just items for newborns since babies grow so fast).

Depends on family, social circle, culture... a lot goes into it. My sister and I are almost 7 years apart. But my father passed so when my mom was pregnant, as it was baby from a new marriage and with such a gap, my mom got a 2nd surprise shower.

I know a woman who had a shower with all 3 kids. I know another who has two kids and only had 1. I know another with 3 kids and had a shower and a sprinkle. I know one with 4 kids and by the 3rd is when she had a shower and that was the only shower she had. Different strokes for different folks.

I think if it's the opposite gender it's acceptable or of there is a 3-4 year age gap as you have already probably passed down a lot to family/friends after such a long time. But a year is still pretty recent. 😬
