Is it safe to bath after having a baby?

Question

Ive tried looking it up on Google if it's safe to bath instead of just showers after giving birth. I'm still lightly bleeding and would like to have a hot/warm bath to rest in for a bit before a shower but Im worried if it could cause an infection? I asked a doc yesterday at my baby's 1 week doc checkup but he didn't seem to really know or care because he ummed and ahhhed about it before saying "Ah Yeah why not, you'll be fine" 😒 I don't think he really knew either.

In your discharge instructions it should tell you but yes you can aas long as you didnt have a c section there might be restrictions with that just make sure its only water no bubble baths you can use epsion salt though

The nurse and doctor said I could but to not add any bubble bath or soaps and just soak. With the bleeding I chose a shower lol

I took a hot shower an hour after birth, at the hospital.  My nurses recommend that I take hot showers /and or baths, to increase my milk supply  (didn't increase anything. Milk came 3 weeks after she was born). But the hot baths were amazing. .

Your child's doctor won't know about things like that more than likely

I was told if you did it before you were pregnant -depending how intense- it shoukd be safe to continue while pregnant. Odviously no heavy lifting or extreme sports. Ask your doctor or do some Google searches for suggested workout plans for pregnancy. 
I saw a personal trainer for a free consultation and she left me with three good work outs. Squats with back against the wall, practicing a shuffle crawl and downward dog walk. As well I took yoga and pregnancy yoga classes which helped prepare my body for labour and cycled every day to work. But remember whatever you and your doctor says is ok to go through with, listen to your body. If you feel tired, take it slow or lower the intensity. Keep hydrated and take breaks and keep fueled with healthy snacks. :)
