I'm really concerned about my vagina
I think I have an STI but my family doctor said my vagina just looks irritated. Well, I'm having a hard time accepting such a simple conclusion because I woke up this morning at 6:00am, very uncomfortable. I went to the bathroom and started looking at my vagina. My outer labia are bleeding and it's beyond itchy!
January 3, 2017 I got an IUD inserted by my family doctor. It went smoothly, and then I stayed in bed for the next few days with cramps. I started wearing Always pads/liners every day since then because of spotting. But all of sudden, a week into having my IUD inserted, my whole outer vagina area became ridiculously itchy.
On top of that, I also have been finding it weird to pee. Not painful like a UTI is, but when I pee it's like I have to put a lot of pressure on it near the end. At one point peeing was a little painful because I think I had a rash on my bum and the pee would trickle down that way and sting it.
Because all of this was happening, especially the itching, I went to my doctor. She took a look at me and just said I was irritated, and left it at that. Disappointed that my doctor wasn't helping me or giving me any answers, I started looking into small natural changes I could do.
I decided to switch to cotton pads/liners. My mom and brother are sensitive to many synthetic fibres, so when I thought of this I felt like I figured it all out. It made a difference, but then the itching continued. It's only been a week though.
I'm just so frustrated. I'm now bleeding from itching myself a little bit. It felt like just from a very light itch, that I was peeling off a layer of skin. It was gross. Now I'm bleeding from the inside of my vagina, outside of my vagina, and I'm not wearing a pad hoping I can "air it out" a little.
I don't understand what's wrong with me. Is this how my body is responding to the constant spotting/bleeding? Is this directly related to my IUD (possible infection)? Do I maybe have an STI? UTI?
On another note, this has made me feel super unsexy. With the IUD I've been bloated and crampy, but mainly it sucks that my boyfriend and I haven't been able to have sex in over a month and it's not looking like we will any time soon.
We attempted sex almost two weeks ago because he was feeling brave and went for it (knowing it'd be a little bloody) with a condom, but after maybe 30 seconds I had to stop because it just didn't feel right, painful. I went to the bathroom and my vagina stung like a bitch. My vagina stung this way too when my doctor checked for my IUD stings last week by putting a thing up my vagina.
Can someone please help me? I don't want to live like this any longer, it's not pleasant.
