will breastfeeding always hurt? * UPDATE

Question

I'm only on day 9 of breast feeding and I want to give up sometimes. 
Will breast feeding always hurt? Will my nipples always be so sore and sensitive? 
I need to know there is a light at the end of this tunnel. 
My nipples have gotten better since I started working more on the latch and producing more milk so he doesn't have to suck so hard. But I still have a burning and aching pain on my nipples....

Ladies thank you so much for your comments. You have no idea how much this helps me, I've been really struggling with this and felt much despair. Now I really have hope and renewed energy to continue breastfeeding with more positivity and joy. I'm really looking forward to it becoming painless and a happy time!

Coconut oil or lanolin for nipples. Pain should not be this bad at this point but give it another week just in case. Get baby checked for lip and tongue ties by someone who specializes in treating them. I had pain for 4 horrible months till we fixed the lip tie that many doctors told me didn't exist. Instant relief after that and we have had zero pain even through teething.

It's gets better! Omg when my daughter was 2 days old I was already about to give up, but I stuck it out and everyday was easier and better. She's 11 weeks now and I'm so happy I stuck it out. I doesn't hurt at all now

Have you got some lanolin nipple cream? It works a treat, apply some right before you feed and straight after. It helps so much. 
In answer to you question, no. As long as youve got a good latch the pain subsides. Im 6 months in and have been exclusively breastfeeding and i barely notice anymore really.

No they won't!  It gets better!  I hated it at first but love it now!  I'd try some nipple cream and making sure the latch is right.

No! It will get easier, I promise! Please don't give up! I was teary to throw in the towel at 2 weeks, but stuck with it. I'm now 4 almost months PP and it is so much better!
