when do babies start waving hi/bye and clap hands etc?

FTM and some of the posts I've seen, people's babies are able to clap hands on cue and wave as well. I know all babies are different but is there a ballpark figure for when they are supposed to be able to do this? What can I do to encourage it?

My son is nearly 10 months old and has no interest in clapping, waving, or saying words. It can be so disappointing to think your child isn't hitting milestones they should. But I thought he'd never get to the crawling stage and now he's into everything!!!!!!!

My LO started clapping at 7 months but not on command until 8 months. We did lots of clapping while singing (both in front of her and clapping her hands for her) and in front of mirrors. She started giving high fives first and it went from there. No waving yet. I think it's because it's not something she was seeing regularly. We've started having DH wave hello and goodbye when he leaves/comes home.

My LO just started clapping and waving over the past two weeks. We often sing songs with her and clap our hands and I find that she likes to wave at herself in the mirror. A lot of repetition helps!

My son waves hello/goodbye about half the time and just started giving high fives. We are still working on clapping

My sweet girl started waving at 7 months.'she would wave bye bye when we pissed her off. Lol she learned to clap about a month ago. We sing if your happy and you know it. She claps to that.

My daughter is 8 1/2 months and has been clapping just this past week. We clap all the time for her though. Every time she does anything. Especially when she would pick up food on her own. So mostly that's when she claps. No waving, we haven't worked with her yet really. If you want to encourage it, just repetition. Do it over and over till you're sick of it. Lol.

My son will wave (he started about 2 weeks ago) but it doesn't matter what we do he has no interest in clapping his own hands. If you try to help him he clasps his hands until you leave them

just show it to her.. whatever you're doing try to tell her like a narrator :).. eventually you'd be surprised on what you're baby  can do.. we never actually teach pur daughter its just we make it a habit to talk to her and tell her what we're doing..

My son started doing this a couple weeks ago. He will be 9 months on the 19 of February. But they all do it in their own time.
