Can I dye my hair during pregnancy?

I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm wondering if I can go get my roots done??

Hairstylist for over 10 years here. You can color your hair when pregnant. Every salon is well ventilated otherwise it would not pass state board inspection. The only issue you may have is the color not turning out the same as it did before due to elevated hormone levels. I have had that happen to two of my clients. One who's hair turned red and the color I put on had no red in it at all. Any color that is used, as long as it is professional color, will not harm your developing baby. The body will not absorb enough of it to do anything to you. It doesn't get absorbed into the blood stream at all. You really have nothing to worry about.

My stylist refuses to color or perm or bleach until 2 weeks into the second trimester and only in the chair under the vent. My poor pixie cut looks so bad lol. The back and sides are completely brown but thw top has brown roots and auburn ends 😂

My family says no, and the midwife says yes. I think it's more of a personal opinion than a medical decision. Even doctors have different answers.

My dr said i can highlight but not dye, since foils don't really put the chemicals directly on the scalp

Agree with the others, wait til your 12wks along/after your first trimester. During my first pregnancy that's when my Dr said it would be ok.

I've heard as long as you're in a well ventilated area and it's not directly on your scalp it'll be okay (: ask your doctor though!

You could try 98% organic color products like Aveda and color where needed. Not full scalp. Hope it helps.
