IS there a support group for over-fertility
I got pregnant by my first boyfriend, one week into my first relationship, while using condoms and on the pill. I was nearly declared infertile with my second child because we were taking so long to conceive. I gave up, went back on the pill, and we conceived immediately. After my second child was born I got an implant. Got pregnant with my third child right away. After the fourth child, I finally realized birth control was probably the cause. I went and got tested for a hormone imbalance and guess what? I was infertile until the stupid pill ADDED estrogen to my system. I think that when I was a single mother of four was a great time to find out. Nobody ever says: "Wow, you're so irresponsible! Why don't you stop wearing condoms and go off the pill!" I feel like maybe doctors should test our specific hormone makeup before blanket prescribing something that could, in cases like mine, actually be helping women to get pregnant. I love my kids but dating in my situation is impossible. I have friends who are infertile and they're sad, but they also always have boyfriends, are never stuck for a sitter, and don't deal with the stigma of being treated like some irresponsible slut (even though the kids are 4-6 years apart). I'm kidding about the support group but just want to raise awareness a bit because hormone testing isn't something they just do. I had to beg and beg and not shut up about it, with my doctor telling me the whole time that if birth control wasn't working, I wasn't doing it right.
