cleaning car seat?

What would be the best way to clean my son's car seat straps and the fabric? He spits up a lot so it's already gotten messy and I'd like to make sure it stays clean. I know I could take the fabric part off but I'd prefer to have a simpler way to do it since I'm sure I'll have to do it often with the way he is. He's a month old so he's still in a carrier with a 5-point.

Ummmm. Dang with my daughters I just take the lining off throw it in the washer and then outside to dry. (make sure you're not going anywhere 😂😐😐) and then just use some dish soap or laundry soap with a mild scrubber on the straps and places that don't come off? Idk. Baby shit isn't easy to begin with lol.

Most car seat manuals will advise using water only to clean the straps. Soaps can wear down the fibers making it less safe. You can spot clean the fabric / padding with some dish soap though. I usually put a bib on my baby after I get him in the seat so if he spits up the bib catches most of it.
