People who vaccinate... Do you also get the flu shot?

Reason I ask is because we were never given the flu shot growing up. My sister only started getting it because she's a nurse. My son's father used to get the flu shot every year and would end up with the flu. The past 3 years he forgot to get it and never even had a cold. Other than that, we have all the childhood vaccines that were required to attend school.
