Early Labor?

Went for my appointment yesterday and was still 2-3 cm and 80% effaced so my doctor decided to "stir things up" when she checked me. Since then I've had way more Braxton Hicks contractions with some mild cramping in my lower belly. I've also lost more of my mucous plug with some pinkish discharge, most likely from my doctor being rough yesterday. Am I closer to active labor? Not sure what to expect next or how quickly this progresses.
