Skyla and weight gain?

So long story short, a couple years back I went back on the nuvaring and lost a crap ton of weight. Sadly it also made my blood pressure go up so my doc said I had to switch. I went with the Skyla. It's been about a year since I got it, but the past few months I've realized I seem to have gained a few pounds back and I get SUPER bloated around my period. Did anyone else gain weight? Or is this just an effect of eating like crap over the holidays?
