tracking BBT HELP!

Tracking my bbt makes me a nervous wreck. The fluctuations in my temperature are making me think something is wrong. I am only on Cycle Day 7 and my temp spiked to 98.17. I had a negative opk this morning. I did take my temp and hour later then typical because I am out of town and I forgot about the time difference. I was under the impression that over 97.7 was considered post ovulatory! HELP! Thoughts?
