Vbac tips?

I know it's super early to even be thinking this far ahead (only 5 weeks). But I desperately want a vbac one day... any ladies have success stories? Tips? I've done the vbac calculator and strongly feel like my first c-section could have been avoided if I had better care. Any thoughts?

Number one thing is you have to have a doctor that is encouraging of a vbac. 2 out of the 3 doctors in the practice I went to were encouraging...once I realized that I only saw those two docs. Research the hospital you'll be giving birth in as well some have high c-section rates. And like a previous person said trust in your body! Set your mind to it! I had a c-section with my first child and a vbac with my second. Recovery after my vbac was much easier and after I acomplished my goal I felt like super woman! I had an amazingly supportive doctor and nurse to thank though. Surround yourself with people who believe in your goal and you can do it.

I've had 2 successful vbacs and will be going for my third. The most important thing is to make sure you have a dr who really supports it. If you don't, they will try to force a csection on you. Also, be prepared to wait it out, in my experience, when attempting a vbacs they like for everything to happen naturally. So you may go longer than you did before. But you can totally do it, just set your mind to it and stay strong!

I'd say whats helped me is: Be confident in your body and know thats this is what its built for. Have a VERY supportive hospital staff/Midwife that encourages your VBAC. Have the idea firm in your mind and tell yourself 'I am going to have a happy, positive VAGINAL birth'
