The shot is going to be a lot higher of a dosage than pills. Are you looking for a method with less hormones? The non hormonal iud would be great, the hormonal iuds are low dose and hormones stay in your uterus where other methods effect you more because they enter your blood stream. There are also condoms, spermicides, sponges, and diaphragms

The arm implant was hell for me. Bled for a month, developed anemia, passed out, suicidal thoughts, gained 60lbs, severe anxiety. I physically could not have sex with my husband it hurt so bad and naturally I'm a freak! It killed my libido too. I had it for a year got it taken out in SEPT I've lost 15lbs so far. 😁 I'm on YAZ now I just started it though so I can't review it.
